Donations & Helping

Donations

The Centre receives no official funding – not from the NHS or from anyone else. We rely entirely on donations:-

  • in the Centre itself
  • from people doing something e.g. holding a garden party or doing a sponsored sky dive
  • from organisations like Bury Rotary Club, including one-off grants such as their grant to enable us to buy our storage shed
  • from the Friends of Bury Cancer Support Centre. See Helping

Our costs are a lot less than larger organisations but we still need over £1500 a week to survive. 100% of any donation goes to the Centre. There are no "administration" costs!

You can donate by:
- bringing or sending money to the Centre
- going to our pages on the just giving website.
If you are a taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donation. This lets us claim back some of the tax you have paid which increases the amount we receive.

Helping

Volunteer at the Centre, as a complementary therapist, kitchen or administration worker. This is an interesting and fulfilling way of giving something back and also joining a great bunch of people (and the staff too!). Contact us.

Join the Friends of Bury Cancer Support Centre and give anything from one hour a month upwards to help with fundraising events such as concerts, tin collections, quiz
nights, or even organising events. Contact us.

Do your own thing! Organise a garden party, do a sponsored skydive, run a marathon, hold a fundraising darts match or golf tournament. Want help to organise your own event? Contact us for publicity materials, advice and support.
